    We Got Gas, Baby!

    Upgrades!

Propane for our Blackstone grill from our RV that is!

If you’ve read our other blogs, you know we absolutely love our 17″ Blackstone grill.  This thing can make breakfasts like the pros (maybe Gary has a little bit to do with that?) and can grill meats and veggies like a champ.

Our Blackstone grill in action for an amazing dinner

Our only minor annoyance was that we had to use the little 1# propane bottles.  It was something else to store, as well as something that couldn’t be reused (didn’t like the idea of going through a lot of those bottles).

Our truck camper has a quick disconnect option for a grill, which is a real nice feature.  So, all we had to do was get the mating side and connect up to the Blackstone, right?  Wrong.

When I connected our first hose, I did get propane, but it was only at the lowest setting, and wouldn’t go higher.  As I read more, I realized that I had 2 valves in the line (one at the tank, one at the grill), which is not the correct setup.  So… back to the drawing board.

I searched on Amazon (my go-to place after not finding stuff at Walmart), and couldn’t find what I needed.  I actually bought the Blackstone at a local Menards on sale, but they didn’t have hoses that looked like they would work either.

I will say a more cost effective way may be go to go a local propane store and ask them for something.  I instead searched the “internets” and found an option on propanegear.com.  They have an 8 ft and a 12 ft version.

I got the hose and went to try it out.  The connection at the rig is a quick connect option (make sure to turn on the valve there after connecting)

The connection at the grill itself is a screw-on type.  No tools needed for either side, which is great!

    Connection to the Blackstone grill

The hose worked  great and was able to get full propane flow to the grill yay! Just in time for our next vacation!

    We have fire!
