We have some time to kill before we can begin our truck suspension upgrade – at Kelderman!
Until then, we decided to see what’s around Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Yellow River State Park
This was a bit more our style of camping – dry camping with some hiking. Also some scenic views (though Pikes Peak took 1st place on that). If you have an ATV, this is your place!
Pikes Peak State Park
We stayed for several days at Pikes Peak State Park. They have full and partial hookups, which was nice but leveling on a lot of the sites can be a bit of a challenge. Oh, and Starlink was doable on some sites (lot of trees!).

There were some nice length hikes in the area, so if you have time, make sure to check them out. As usual, we got lost by accidentally taking a ski route (I know, it’s shocking) but we had fun!

Red Rock Dam
The video shows a bit more of the dam, so check it out. There are also 2 really impressive county (I think) campgrounds there.

Maquoketa Caves State Park
We didn’t talk about this on the video, but I was able to capture this beautiful sea of bright flowers that just made me happy. Unfortunately, the other days we were there were spent in rain so we didn’t make it to the caves. Perhaps another time.
