    TONS To Do & We’re NOT in a National Park! | e199

We found a fun inexpensive place to camp in lower Michigan with tons of recreational opportunities! Lots to do and a peaceful low-key campground for a perfect relaxing weekend – or more!

    Where we Stayed 🛻⛺

Green Lake Rustic Campground (Chelsea, MI)(Google Maps)

Each site had a picnic table and fire pit. There were pit toilets available and a trash bin, which was great! Some sites had views of the lake (like ours!). Hiking trails were available right off the road into the campground. There’s a long paved multi-use trail (Border-to-Border Trailhead (B2B Chelsea-Stockbridge) that we used to get from the campground to where we tried out some mountain biking trails.

You do need to reserve online at the Michigan DNR

    Where we Biked 🚴🏻‍♂️🚵🏻

DTE Energy Foundation Trail (Google Maps)

This trail has a LOT more than what we could go on as beginner emtb folks. The green lake trail (the only one we tried) was a ton of fun! We rode the 5-mile loop 3 times and were whooped – guess we have a lot of opportunity to improve stamina, ha!

    Our Camping Locations 🛻⛺

If you’re interested in seeing all the places (overnight, dining, sightseeing) as well as FREE boondocking locations we’ve been to, check out our Google Maps travel map! Enjoy!
