We definitely have issues getting around in forests. This episode is no different, but we do find some pretty amazing views in southern Oregon!

    Stuff We Used

Hovsco Scooter- This thing was fun to try out on our excursions. This did help a bit when we were unsure of a road – just pop this out and take it for a ride to check out potential camp spots.

    Where We Stayedβ›ΊπŸ—ΊοΈπŸ“Œ

Campsite near Lava Field (Deschutes National Forest, OR)

This was what we found after getting too tired to continue on. Though it was a pretty nice location. The only negative is that although we didn’t know it at the time, there is an ATV clearing about a half-mile from this location, so a lot of ATV and overlapping vehicle traffic in the morning.

Dispersed Campsite near Bottle Spring (Freemont National Forest, OR)

After striking out several times, we were really glad to have found this easy-access place to stay. The cold spring was pretty but I particularly enjoyed watching the prairie dogs at the site.

    Where We Ate πŸ½οΈπŸ”

Ranch Hand Bar and Grill (Christmas Valley, OR)

If you want to get a tiny bit of the flavor of this part of the country, then you should stop by Ranch Hand Bar & Grill. The food is as good as the people watching experience!

If you’re interested in seeing all the places (overnight, dining, sightseeing) as well as FREE boondocking locations we’ve been to, check out our Google Maps travel map! Enjoy!
