Beautiful BLM, HOT & Steep Hikes then DEEP Snow – all in one week! | Utah RV Travels | e130

    05/28/2023
    2023, Season 5 – Go WEST(ish)!, Utah

We’ve been thoroughly enjoying our hikes in Utah the last many weeks, but THIS week was simply rough. We hit our climbing limit on this slot canyon and then Bryce backed it up with a posthole experience we won’t forget!

    โ›บ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐Ÿ“ŒOur Camping Locations

BLM area just off Route 12 on Spencer Rd (Escalante, UT)

Bryce Canyon RV Resort (Cannonville, UT)

We’re sharing our camping and other locations on two sites:

โœ…iOverlander – We post mainly boondocking sites as well as dump stations, water, laundry etc. . This app can be used without cellular signal!

โœ…Campendium – We post mainly established campgrounds. This app has cellular signal overlays on the paid version (when you have a cell signal)

We also have a currently free map on Google that has all of the places where we’ve stayed along with the related video and links to more detailed reviews on iOverlander , Campendium and Google Maps.

    ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿฅพ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธOur Hiking Trails

Spencer BigHorn Canyon Loop (Escalante, UT)

If I had a chance to do this loop again, I think I’d honestly pass. It’s a difficult hike and you don’t get the same level of payoff as other slot canyons.

Peekabo Loop (Bryce Canyon National Park, UT)

This hike might be more enjoyable without all of the snow and the postholing (falling knee+ deep in snow on the trail). I swear my knee is STILL not right and it’s been 2 weeks since that hike. That being said, there were some amazing views and ultimately I think it was worth it.

Panorama Trail (Kodachrome Basin State Park, UT)

Less strenuous hike with great panoramic views (make sure to do the Panorama Point).
